Hello 2019 & A Vision Board!

So, it’s a fresh new year and we’ve left 2018 behind us – some for the best and others with a sense of pride and achievement. I’m starting my new year with a vision board and a plan for action.

Whether you had a great year and it was one for the books or if it flew by with not much to remember it or maybe it was difficult and you’re glad to see the back of it. We’ve all got our own lived experience for good or ill and who knows what you’ve learned from those 365 days or what paths you might take because of it all.

I often say to my author clients, everything is inspiration for writing or whatever way you choose to express yourself. For me, writing has always been therapy but I know many who share in so many different art forms.

For this year ahead I want to do more and be braver and so I’ve created a vision board for the first time! I used to cringe saying this out loud and imagined cutting out pictures from magazines of expensive shoes and glueing them onto a whiteboard – I’m not crafty and more likely to get the glue in my hair than on the page!

However, I’ve read a lot about the significance of writing things down and putting a deadline date against them. And so, I went to work finding images online and mocking up things I wanted to achieve and do and work on, printed them off, clipped them to a lovely rose goard frame, and hung it on the wall next to my desk.

Twenty-one goals and three-hundred-and-sixty-five days to tick them off. You might have your own way of creating something like this. I’ve spoken to others who just wrote a list at the front of their diary, one person created a very detailed spreadsheet, another painted hers by hand and wrote on everything she intended to do this year. Because that’s what it’s about – intention. It’s not a wish list, we plan, take action, achieve.

I can’t wait to see what we all achieve this year…
