Congratulations on getting from first word to The End! Whether you’ve been working on it for years or finished it in mere months then it’s a terrific journey to go on and celebrations are in order. The work doesn’t end there though but I’m here to guide you through the next stages in becoming a published author. This is the beginning of your journey to becoming a published author. I work in three different ways to suit you:
Editing and Proofreading Package – includes all of the above as well as an additional two rounds of proofreading by one of my proofreaders so you get two sets of expert eyes on your manuscript.
Author Package – includes all of the above, plus 2 x 60min coaching sessions. You would decide on 1-2 areas you need help with such as book marketing advice, step-by-step self-publishing with Amazon KDP, guidance on writing your next book quicker, or something else you need help with. Also includes a copy of my 65-page book marketing guide and a detailed self-publishing checklist!
There are no ‘stupid questions’ in publishing. Believe me, if there are, I’ve already asked them! As a published writer and professional editor, I understand the excitement and passion of publishing your own book.
I don’t with every author who gets in touch with me, in fact, I turn down around 8 potential clients a month. It’s important we’ll make a great team and that I have sufficient time in my calendar to commit to your book. So I always arrange a call/Skype/Zoom first and will request to review 2-3 sample chapters of your manuscript. If I love your work and can confidently say I can make improvements to it then we can discuss booking you in. To have all your questions answered, get in touch and let’s chat.
Once I receive your full manuscript and we have confirmed an estimated date for finishing, then I start with a straight read through. This allows me to get a better idea of the overall concept. On the second reading, I meticulously line edit, correcting punctuation, typos, and grammatical errors. If you go for option two, I will also make developmental editing suggestions for you to review and accept or decline – I’ll be giving my experienced opinion but it’s your book!
Once I’ve got your input on my recommendations, I’ll make stylistic improvements so we have a completed second draft. You have the opportunity to read through at each stage if you would prefer to be more involved. The final stage is a thorough proofread and then we’re done and you’re ready to self-publish or begin the steps towards getting traditionally published.
I’m also an accomplished copywriter and published writer who can help you with marketing, press opportunities, and even help with your author bio and website copy.
After two years of research and personal and professional experience, I’ve created several author challenges and written How to Market as an Author guide which is packed with helpful tips and insights about self-publishing and marketing your book.
To me, every client and manuscript is unique, which is why I prioritise getting to know you and your book to determine how best to achieve your publishing goals. I get personally involved in every aspect of the process and your journey to becoming a published author which is why I only work with clients I believe in and subjects I’m passionate about. I’m available to you via phone, Skype, social media, and email during office hours. Get in touch and become a published author this year!

Publishing your very first novel is scary. But when you do it with Kirsten? Less so. She was just the person I needed to take this novel all the way from a draft to a published book. With her touch the content is now the best it can be, with my voice still very much there. 110% recommend!

I’m delighted to have had Kirsten as my editor. Her advice and tips have been a game changer for me. I’m finally excited about my book which is thanks to her editing and guidance. I would highly recommend her services. She’s professional, friendly and great at her job.

For me, working with an author is a partnership! I’ve worked on fiction and nonfiction across a variety of genres. All my clients have 5-star reviews and some have hit bestseller, been noted in ‘Top Books for…’ listings, and invited to speak at events.
